Next Step – Moving On!

Dear friends,
A chain of unpredicted events (aka my own inattentiveness) led me to buying a domain and not only that, but getting a hosting as well. That was not the original plan, but you know my philosophy – go with the flow! So now you are most welcome at thelovingstranger.com, my new baby website where all my stories, advice and adventures are much better structured, brushed up and ready for sharing. Besides, I added plenty of new stuff, and there’s going to be more. The Loving Stranger opens a new chapter. Hope to see you all there!
Yours,
Kira

Budapest, day 3: Soaked in a Good Way

We woke up to the cloudy sky, but it wasn’t cold, and no rain at all. The plan was to move our stuff to our next host’s place and start our great reward aka post-exercise day – go to the thermal baths with our new American friends. We first thought about Gellert, but I wasn’t too impressed by the reviews, and we agreed upon Sezchenyi.

The Essence of Travel: Walt Whitman – Song of the Open Road

1

Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose.
Henceforth I ask not good-fortune, I myself am good-fortune,
Henceforth I whimper no more, postpone no more, need nothing,
Done with indoor complaints, libraries, querulous criticisms,
Strong and content I travel the open road.

The Girl Who Wanted to Grow a Lotus Flower

I’ve never seen a lotus flower until January 2013, when me and my best friend took a trip to Thailand. It was quite a challenge, to make that trip happen, from her mother’s telling her it was a dangerous place to finding a good bargain. We ended up on Phuket island, and the sea there, the Andaman sea, was the best I’ve ever swam in so far. We took a free trip around the island – more of a shopping tour organized for tourists, but we still went by a couple of pretty places and dropped in a temple area. Buddhist temples are beautiful, and the lotus flower – sacred. I saw that flower in a big clay pot, tucked by the sidewalk in between the fleshy bushes.
